Projects: Quality e-learning Resources

About
Flexible Learning Toolbox logo

In 2004, the Quality E-Learning Resources project will build on the the achievements of the 2003 project which developed a new series of Toolbox online training materials to support the learning needs of VET clients, including learners with particular needs.

An important development in 2004 will be the refocus of this project's content development work in 2004 to concentrate on producing learning objects using recommended packaging guidelines from the 2003 VET Learning Object Repository project. The emphasis on designing for effective learning will be maintained, as in all previous rounds of content development within the Framework.

In addition the project will continue to provide professional development support for organisations implementing Toolboxes (and where appropriate learning object approaches) through the Toolbox Champion Service. There will be particular emphasis on support for trainers conducting e-learning in enterprises, and for trainers of Indigenous learners. Professional development will be provided in the context of organised trials in those environments, which will be documented for future reference.

Objectives

The objectives of the Quality E-Learning Resources project in 2004 include:

  • To develop suites of learning objects in priority industry and equity areas
  • To produce a range of repackaged learning objects from existing Toolbox products
  • To provide professional development by a network of Toolbox Champions
  • To trial the delivery of Toolboxes in programs for Indigenous Australians and for learners in enterprise settings
  • To document and promote key aspects of the Toolbox experience
  • To conduct an audit of Toolbox usage across Australia.
