Projects: NET*Working 2004 Conference

A national online conference and showcasing event designed to inform and inspire the VET sector to embrace flexible learning practices. The objectives are to conduct an event for VET practitioners and managers and client groups to:

• Showcase blended learning activities which address the needs of client groups.
• Learn from national and international professionals the latest development and thinking in relation to the integration of e-learning into the delivery of services and products.
• Promote the outcomes of the Framework 2000-2004.
• Identify new tools to support e-learning options.
• Debate and dialogue the challenges and opportunities presented in providing greater flexibility to learners.

The planned 2004 project objectives included:

• An online conference with activities spread over a 2 week period, the dates to be determined by FLAG in December 2003. The dates for NET*Working 2004 are November 8 to 19. The themes are: Inclusion and Inspiration.
• Guide to the construction and management of online events developed and implemented as the detailed plan for the online conference, and made available as a project output at project conclusion.
• World-leaders as conference presenters and workshop leaders.
• In conjunction with the Communication and Leadership program, outcomes of Framework promoted.
• Activities in each state and territory conducted concurrent with the online activities. The Communications officers for each State act as the reference point for such activities.
