Projects: Management of Teaching & Learning Assets

This project entails an investigation into the requirements necessary for the ongoing management of the teaching and learning assets of the Australian Flexible Learning Framework beyond 2004.

The project team will explore the potential of existing and emerging structures to provide an effective basis for maintaining, distributing and managing these assets. The team will work with other relevant initiatives and agencies to develop and progress the overall sustainability strategy for these materials.

The 2004 objectives include:

• An investigation of user and stakeholder expectations of the management of the teaching and learning assets of the Framework and the potential of existing and emerging structures to support these needs.
• The consultation and collaboration with agencies (e.g. ANTA, ATP etc. ) with an interest in maintenance of resources
• The development of the overall sustainability strategy.

Management of Teaching and Learning Assets - Research Report (532 KB)

This research report (finalised 22 February 2005) is the key output of the project. It describes a federated model for managing the teaching and learning resources produced by the Australian Flexible Learning Framework. It proposes a role for central services in handling key coordinating functions, while State and Territory agencies take on a greater role in supporting users at a local level. It includes recommendations to the Flexible Learning Advisory Group for an evolutionary approach to furthering the model during 2005.
