Projects: Issues Management

About

In 2004 the Issues Management Project will manage issues related to the national implementation of flexible learning in policy areas that are significant to the national VET system, e.g. copyright. As in 2003, 'advocacy' will be an integral part of the Issues Management Project.

In 2004, the Issues Management Project oversaw:

  • FLAG submission to Attorney General's review on Crown Copyright
    See: http://www.ag.gov.au/agd/www/Clrhome.nsf
Go to: Present Enquiries -> submission 46
  • Copyright Kitchen logo First stage development of Copyright Kitchen in collaboration with the Web Management Project (2004)
Copyright Kitchen is a dynamic web-resource to educate VET on copyright/IP issues. This resource is a long overdue solution to the education of the VET sector at user, developer and manager levels in an accessible format in an increasingly vital area of regulation and will affect both policy and practice at organisational and individual user levels.

Objectives

The primary objectives for the Issues Management project:

  • Assist FLAG and other key Framework stakeholders to engage the wider VET sector in the organisational, policy and regulatory changes needed to enable flexible learning approaches to be fully integrated into training delivery and business practices, through rigorously planned and well supported strategies.
  • To advance issues of bandwidth and copyright by identifying existing and new issues arising from 2002 and 2003 issues management projects and implement suitable targeted strategies.
  • Establish and maintain strong links with other Framework Programs and Projects and other National initiatives that have strong impact on issues management.
  • Work collaboratively with other Framework Programs and projects to identify any new or earlier issues that require management during 2004.
