This project
explored the use of new flexible learning practices in remote
Aboriginal Primary Health Care Services.
These practices, such as web and email, interactive multimedia,
music and theatre, were used in order to address issues
related to: remote areas, Aboriginal communities and language
and literacy.
The Building sustainable practice: engaging
remote Aboriginal communities project key objectives
were to:
- trial the use of music, theatre, interactive multimedia
and Internet technologies (web, email and discussion
forums) with Central Australian Remote Health Development
Services (CARHDS) participants in town and out bush
- develop processes to establish and continue to use
these methods over the long term, and
- develop skills in CARHDS Educators and Aboriginal Health
Workers to use these methods for in service education
and training and for community health education.
