Projects: Flexways
|
The Flexways project provides resources and an online planning
tool designed for teachers, trainers, managers and support
staff in VET who want to develop a professional development
plan to learn new skills for working in a flexible learning
environment. The planning tool can be used by teams working
with a facilitator, or by individuals working on their own.
It can be customised to suit particular goals and existing
skill level.
The project's website contains a wealth of material on flexible
learning, professional development strategies, learning styles,
flexible learning case studies, courses and tutorials, and
worthwhile resources.

The Flexways project follows on from the Closing the Gap
(2001) and Staff Capability Review (2000) projects.
The first objective of the Staff Capability Review project
was to assist VET organisations to identify ways of analysing
staff capabilities in the provision of flexible learning services
and using technologies to achieve business objectives. The
second objective was to develop a Capability Review Model
for RTOs that could be customised by providers as they review
their staff capability in the area of flexible learning.
More information on the
history of the Staff Capability Review project.
Closing the Gap was initiated in 2001 to assist VET practitioners
identify professional development needs, plan professional
development programs and access resources in the field of
flexible learning. A primary outcome of Closing the Gap was
the development of a web-based tool that allows VET practitioners
to create a professional development plan in the area of flexible
and online learning.
