Projects: EdNA VET Online

About

The EdNA VET Online project team manages development of the information services for Vocational Education and Training (VET) and the Adult and Community Education (ACE) sectors within the EdNA Online Portal. This project has been part of the Framework since 2000.

The EdNA Online Portal provides information and links on general Internet resources for teaching and learning, current issues, educational research, and providers.

The emphasis of the project is on identifying and organising existing information and aiding its retrieval online for VET and ACE clients.

In 2004 the EdNA VET Online project will expand the range of VET and ACE resources accessible through the website. It will also develop its leadership role in implementing cutting edge technologies to provide customised information services and access tools for users, and maintain a strong consultancy focus for the sector on interoperability issues.

2004 Objectives

The EdNA VET Online Project 2004 is a continuation of work already commenced and aims to maintain and develop the VET components of the EdNA Online website by:

  • Expanded range of VET and ACE resources accessible through EdNA Online.
  • Improved referencing of VET content within the EdNA site.
  • Promotion of EdNA VET Online through focused strategies for different types of target users ( eg high end users such as library staff, less frequent users such as VET practitioners).
  • Continued development and promotion of access tools and web services in conjunction with education.au limited.
  • Case studies developed to demonstrate the implementation of EdNA Online tools and services in support of VET and ACE sector organisations.
  • Collaboration and consultancy with other VET projects to support documentation and dissemination of interoperability solutions.
  • Links maintained with resource access initiatives in the wider education sector, through association with the cross-sectoral work of education.au

Testimonials

*"One of my responsibilities here in South Australia as the Executive Officer for the statewide Learning Systems Resources Standing Committee, is to disseminate information to colleagues about new e-learning initiatives.

I have found the EdNA VET news to be a great resource with many useful links to informative articles as well as prior notification of upcoming events and conferences. Often this news is the first indication of an interstate Conference. This gives my fellow South Australians timely notice to indicate their interest and often enables them to get early bird registrations.

The format of the news sheet makes for easy reading too. The topics listed at the beginning relate to the order that they are précised within the sheet. The brief descriptions of the articles are succinct and sufficient for me to decide whether they are relevant to TAFE SA.

A worthwhile read."
Elizabeth Pohl,
Executive Officer, Learning Systems & Resources Standing Committee,
