Projects: Access and Equity in e-learning

About

Access and Equity in Online Learning

The Access & Equity in Online Learning project developed recommendations and guidelines for six learner groups:

The Access and Equity in Online Learning project was established in 2000 to identify the needs of three equity groups in e-learning, learners with literacy needs, Indigenous learners and learners with disabilities.

In 2001 the project focussed on the needs of three additional equity groups were addressed; women e-learners, rural and remote rural e-learners and isolated metropolitan e-learners. Research in 2001 included issues for e-learners around the Digital Divide.

In 2002 the communication phase of the project was conducted. Workshops were held in each capital city and some regional areas to work through the issues around universal design of e-learning. The work of the project is focussed on ensuring that all learners have a genuine choice to access e-learning.
