Legal issues in flexible learning
Legal Issues in Flexible Learning aims to raise awareness
of the law on privacy, intellectual property and copyright,
contracts and e-commerce - much of it new. It shows flexible
learning practitioners, managers, developers and librarians
where to go for up-to-date information, typical scenarios
and discussion.
This website contains an information
kit, real-world scenarios,and
a Legal Questions &
Answers section designed to meet the growing need for
quality legal advice for all those involved in flexible learning
in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.
2002 Information Kit
The Information Kit contains
a resource book and four booklets with scenarios relating
to legal issues
experienced by different VET professionals. You can read
a general response from a lawyer
at the end
of each
scenario.
Each booklet can be downloaded separately or you can download
the whole kit.
Scenarios
Managers, practitioners, developers and librarians contributed
examples of their legal issues and experiences in the area
of flexible learning. These issues and experiences were then
given to a lawyer to comment on. The lawyer’s responses
provide general information for each of the Scenarios.
Legal Questions and Answers - what questions is the VET
sector asking?
Between October and December 2002, and again in November
2003 members of the Vocational Education and Training (VET)
sector posed
questions
relating
to legal issues in flexible learning to a legal team
from Minter Ellison lawyers. The questions and the lawyers'
responses are provided in the Legal
Questions & Answers section of this website.
Please note
These resources provide a general guide to the issues which
arise in flexible learning. For those seeking answers to specific
issues separate legal advice should be sought.
