Overview

This Project is a continuation of the work to achieve Goal 5 of the Australian Flexible Learning Framework – Problem Solving Regulation. Its work will assist the Flexible Learning Advisory Group to advocate that the legal and regulatory framework in Australia:

• provides adequate protection for learners;

• removes legal and regulatory barriers to the effective use of information technology in VET; and

• fosters open trade in Australian VET products and services.

This Project follows directly on from the Strategy 2001 Legal and Regulatory Framework Project. It directly references the outcomes of this project and will work in close collaboration with the 2002 Legal Issues for Flexible Learning Project.

The key areas in which expert advice is being sought in 2002 are intellectual property and electronic authentication.

This project is an initiative within the Australian Flexible Learning Framework for the National Vocational Education and Training System 2000-2004.
